One scam, many threats.

FAQ

Common questions about threats.

What counts as brand impersonation?

Anything that uses your name, logo, people or content to make a scam look like it comes from you. That includes fake websites, accounts, apps, ads, texts, calls and messages, as well as copies of your products and leaked data.

Which threats are most common?

Phishing and scam websites, and fake social media accounts. Together they made up about four in five of the threats we pursued between January and June 2026. The mix is different for every organisation, which is why each threat has its own page.

Can one scam involve several threats?

Often. A scam text can lead to a phishing site, a fake support account can push a fake app, and the stolen details can end up for sale. We link related threats into campaigns so they can be taken down together.

Where can you take threats down?

We've enforced takedowns across more than 100 platforms and domain extensions, including registrars, hosts, social media platforms, app stores and messaging apps. If a provider is slow to act, we escalate.

How quickly are threats taken down?

It depends on the threat and the provider. We send an evidence-backed request as soon as a threat is confirmed, track every case and escalate until it's offline.

What if I'm not sure what I've found?

Use the quick check above, or send it to us with a takedown request and our analysts will tell you what it is. You can also start with a free threat scan of your domain.
